► Preparation for Interview

In order to know more about the production of Linkou’s tea, we first searched on the internet for knowledge about tea in Linkou. Then, we made the information into powerpoints to share with classmates. During the communicating process, we listed a few questions on some information that was not clear on the internet and the history of development of Linkou’s tea.

After that, we started to prepare the content for this visit. We discovered that there are only a few actual local tea shops survived in Linkou. These survivors usually do not sell tea as the only business, most of them have transformed into tourist farms and compound restaurants. We visited one of the tea manufacturing factories called Sheng-Jin. It has been operating for more than 30 years, and lived through the high and low of the tea industry and its transformation. It is also praised as “a family of champion pedigree” from the professional production in the early years to the tourist tea manufacturing factory at present. The cultivating area of the tea factory currently is 0.7 hectares. Every holiday, there are tourists visiting the tea garden from various places. Besides learning to make tea by hand, they can also taste the fabulous taste of: Long-Shou” tea, which is welcomed and favored by many people.
