► Development and Adjust: The Transformation of modern tea industry
Linkou no longer has its glory in the past. However, in order to preserve this cultural asset, many tea factories transform to tourism in recent years. Ancient tea factories tell the history of tea development, enabling modern people to review the history of tea. Some practitioners continue to improve and develop the tea industry, turning tea manufacturing factories to tourist tea gardens. Sheng-Jin tea factory is the typical example of the transformation of the tea industry in Linkou. It is also the tea manufacturing factory we visited for this research topic.
Sheng-Jin tea factory has operated for more than 30 years in Linkou. Today, it has transformed into a tourist experience farm. In holidays, tourists from different places come to the tea garden to have fun. In addition to the effort of folks, local farmer’s association and the New Taipei City government also give impetus to the revival of tea industry. They hold a variety of events to support the tea manufacturers, which not only makes the champion tea manufacturer in Linkou famous, but also brings vitality to the development and transformation of the local tea industry.
